SEPTEMBER 01, 2021. The COVID 19 Pandemic quarantine did not hamper the plan to upgrade the Visayas Community Medical Center in Cebu City. Gearing towards new investments, AppleOne Properties Inc. tapped the services of ArchiGlobal Inc. to design a renovation for an existing commercial building in the hospital complex .
“As part of our mission to provide competent and compassionate healthcare for Cebu, the first phase of the redevelopment plans for the Visayas Community Medical Center will see the rise of the AppleOne Medical Arts Building, formerly Sunergia Building, and part of the soon-to-be integrated medical complex. Employing the design principles of sustainability, people-centeredness, and community relevance, ArchiGlobal Inc. maximized open space and natural air circulation in the common areas of the new Medical Arts building by opening up the interior spaces to nature. The main lobby has a prominent green space and this is repeated in the common circulation areas of the upper floors of the building. The façade now exudes a “greener” look. The additional façade treatment provides sunshade to the working areas and gives the existing building a new tranquil look.
The new AppleOne Medical Arts Building is a building that breathes. The design approach is not a mere reaction to the COVID pandemic but a real effort to create a medical facility design that speaks about its passion for healthcare.
